About Us
The CWRU Journal of Economics is a student-led initiative, launched in Fall 2023, that offers experiential learning and career development opportunities for CWRU students interested in economics, data analysis, and research. We publish analyses of the Ohio region and beyond, produced in-house by our data journalists and econometric analysts and advised, edited, and reviewed by our Editorial Board. The Journal serves as a platform for students to explore economic research, build data analysis skills, and connect with peers interested in economics.
How it works:
- Students pursue research projects independently or in small teams.
- From the earliest stages of the process, student leaders work with students to develop research questions, refine empirical strategies, and guide projects from idea formation through execution.
- Students submit their work for inclusion in one of the organization’s two publications: the CWRU Journal of Economics, released annually and featuring full-length undergraduate research papers, and The Reserve Review, our magazine-style publication released each semester and featuring data features and economic inquiries. Data features are concise, data-driven articles that use visual storytelling to explore an economic question for a broad audience. Economic inquiries are exploratory pieces developed in the early stages of a larger research project and often serve as the foundation for future full-length papers.
